I want to apologise for my little rant on my LJ yesterday regarding the lack of feedback i had so far received on my SGA Big Bang story.

It's been an intense ride getting that story finished in time and i literally lived and breathed that story for so long that i guess now it's posted i feel that it's slightly anti-climatic. I'm going to chill out and hopefully some feedback will come in. I don't want to force anyone to read my story and for them to then write half-assed feedback of "That was great!". I'd rather the reader takes their time, really enjoys what has been written and then lets me know, when they have time, what they really thought.

Thank you everyone who commented and reigned in my paranoia!

I guess what i meant to say before was that feedback to a writer is incredibly important. It's the payback in a sense, to know that someone out there has enjoyed it and that all that stress and toil has been worth it. For me, it's what motivates me to write. (Well that and reading other awesome stories!)

So, yeah ... i'm sorry if i sounded like one of those pre-teeners of FF.net who threaten not to write unless someone reviews, but i was having an odd SGA Big Bang related mental breakdown moment. I think we all had one of those while writing these stories! The whole process was exhausting.

The ass end of Hurricane Ida is making for fabulous weather along the mid-Atlantic coastal region, QH 16 is done in draft (which is different from 'done,' since it has not been through the shredder that is sevenall yet), and the one time a year I want to go to Bed Bath & Beyond, I don't have any of those 20% coupons they constantly send (and none are in the teetering recycling pile). You know, i don't think i've ever really been into a UK series. I'm usually all for anything stateside. Damn you Arthur Pendragon!

Months and months of pain and suffering, sleepless nights, typing till my fingers were raw, going with one idea, changing ideas, settling on an idea i like, writing, re-writing, writing some more, re-writing what i had written till five in the morning, editing, re-editing after the beta's have had a look through, editing again, achieveing over 40,000 words, coding the entire story .... so is it wrong/childish/ungrateful(?)/completely shitty of me to be a little disappointed that i've only had one comment on my SGA Big Bang story.

I wasn't expecting a flood of feedback, but i guess was expecting something. I guess after all that hardwork that's the payback of hearing what people think of the story. I see everyone getting comments and i'm getting none. Hmmmm.

Maybe my stories not as good as everyone elses up there :( Or maybe not everyone's had a chance to read through all the stories yet? Or maybe i'm over-reacting? Sorry, just on a bit of a downer right now.

So I was re-watching like, the whole of series 5, and I loved the bits in this particular ep. when they all see how similar Carson is to Tony. Anyone ever read any fics that focus on this? Maybe... I dunno, Gibbs thinking about it, or Abby or whatever?
I'd prefer no relationships in it :)

P.S - I'm not good with tags, but I did as well as I could lol

I am in the mood to read stories with Tim's work being either central to solving a case or him showing unexpected inner strength while dealing with a case.

Examples of what I mean:

"Echoes of Goodbye" by Emerald, featuring a Tim who's computer work and inner strength are both needed to solve a mystery. One that effects Tim personally.

and "The Tarot Twins" also by Emerald, possibly the same Emerald as above. Here something Tim experienced as a child give him the information he needs to help find a set of twin boys who have gone missing. My favourite scene the one where Tim and Palmer work together in one chapter and Tony thinks/says "the geek and the gremlin left me in the dust hours ago."

and "Wanting To Help" by Enthusiastic Fish (I love her stories). It starts with Tim seeing a breaking news segment which tells of several prisoners having escaped from jail, has Sarah being kidnapped and Tim having to face his nightmarish past to help find Sarah.

Anyone else know of fics short or long which feature Tim being a good investigator or dealing with a situation with the inner strength he's capable of or otherwise making a difference in solving a case? If so, please link me to them

This isn't The Awakening series or Meghaera's Pulse. Tony and Gibbs were on a stake out in DC when some kind of biological weapon was set off which made them go at it like bunnies. It also created some kind of bond between them and later Gibbs beat a man to death for hurting Tony. The bond made them extremely protective of each other.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I just recently got hooked on Criminal Minds, so I'm catching up with DVDs. I'm journal posting reactions/squee to the early eps as I work my way through them if anyone's interested and I would love to discuss with more knowledgeable fans of the series.
